Forest restoration agenda

in the business sector

With a focus on the forest continuum and by integrating conservation and production, the Arapyaú Institute drives large-scale restoration in Brazil. We combine sectoral coordination with implementation initiatives that strengthen the field of restoration, from productive restoration — with a focus on Agroforestry Systems (AFS) and the silviculture of native species — to ecological restoration, regenerating landscapes, strengthening local economies and expanding the viability of sustainable solutions.

We operate on three complementary fronts:

(i) pre-competitive mobilization of the business sector to remove bottlenecks and accelerate the country’s recovery agenda;

(ii) support for the implementation of models, businesses, supply chains, and financial mechanisms that scale them up;

(iii) the generation of knowledge, the enrichment of public discourse, and the promotion of practical action.

By integrating science, technology, innovation, and multisectoral collaboration, the Arapyaú Institute helps demonstrate Brazil’s leadership on the forestry agenda and position forests as a solid, robust, and highly valuable asset class for the world.
