Launched in February 2019, the Forum was made possible by the partnership between the National Front of Mayors (Frente Nacional de Prefeitos) and the Arapyaú Institute. Inova Cidades Forum brings together secretaries and municipal leaders who work with government innovation to exchange knowledge for greater efficiency in public management. The network seeks solutions to address the challenges faced by municipalities in producing and incorporating innovation in the public sector, as well as advocating a common agenda for innovation in municipal administration.
The Forum works to structure itself as the interlocutor of Brazilian cities in the agenda of innovation in public management. Its governance is made up of municipal secretaries from various Brazilian capitals and is supported by an executive secretariat, occupied by the Arapyaú Institute.
These agendas are important to ensure governmental innovation is strengthened and consolidated, enabling structural changes in municipal public administration”
says Marcelo Cabral, manager of the Cities and Territories programme.
