The Arapyaú Institute begins 2025 with an ambitious and promising agenda, marked by the consolidation of initiatives that connect climate, nature, and development. One of the main objectives for this year is to highlight Brazil’s role as a center for integrated solutions for the future of the planet. “The year 2024 was crucial for us to consolidate and scale our efforts. And 2025 will be a moment of continuity and expansion,” says Renata Piazzon, general director of Arapyaú.

The organization remains committed to building experiences that point to viable paths for effective transformation on a global scale. Specializing in the creation and promotion of networks, Arapyaú celebrates their institutionalization and maturation, as well as the impact they generate in each operating territory. One of them is A Concertation for the Amazon, an initiative that increasingly consolidates itself as a space for dialogue to promote collective solutions for the region and the people living in it.

In 2025, the Forest Peoples Connection project is expected to celebrate the milestone of five thousand indigenous, extractivist, and quilombola communities connected in protected territories of Legal Amazon, bringing the network closer to the goal of providing broadband internet to one million people in the region. Led by Conaq (National Coordination of Articulation of Rural Black Communities), Coiab (Coordination of Indigenous Organizations of the Brazilian Amazon), and CNS (National Council of Extractivist Populations), the initiative is supported by the Arapyaú Institute, alongside 30 other organizations.

Committed to building experiences that point to viable paths for effective transformation on a global scale, Arapyaú will work on creating a Pre-Competitive Restoration Movement, aimed at boosting forest restoration in Brazil, creating new economic and environmental opportunities.

This year, the Institute will also launch a robust blended finance mechanism to promote bioeconomy and sustainable productive chains, such as cocoa. “The consolidation of the cocoa chain as a reference in Brazilian bioeconomy is a milestone to inspire and boost other productive chains,” emphasizes Débora Passos, planning and governance manager. The CRA (Agricultural Receivables Certificate) that allocates resources to family farmers and small cocoa producers is an example of how structuring initiatives can be replicated, promoting expanded impact.

The year will be especially strategic with the holding of COP 30 in Belém, Pará. “It will be a unique opportunity to present to the world our experiences in bioeconomy, food systems, culture, and networks. We will also work to strengthen the articulation of Brazilian philanthropy, promoting a more unified and structured action,” highlights Renata.

In addition, the Arapyaú Institute will continue to implement strategies focused on food systems, entrepreneurship, and innovation, expanding the reach of its initiatives in different sectors. The organization remains focused on consolidating these efforts, taking advantage of the opportunities of the national and global agendas to share the results achieved. “Our team remains mobilized and motivated to position Brazil as a hub of integrated solutions for climate, nature, and people,” summarizes Renata.
