Fiscal balance for municipal governments

Brazil needs more efficient, transparent and financially healthy municipal governments. On the Cocoa Coast, we stimulate efficiency in public administration and balanced municipal accounts. We work with the consultancy Gove and the local governments of Canavieiras, Itacaré, Una and Uruçuca to improve the fiscal situation of these cities. The measures – sometimes as simple as ensuring collection of land taxes (IPTU) or reducing the water and electricity bills of local government buildings – are aimed at increasing receipts from tax payments, reducing spending and improving governmental fund transfers. This liberates funds that may be used to create quality public services for the populations.
